A working vineyard on the edge of Dartmoor with a kitchen and bar that punches well above its weight: good coffee, homemade cakes and a proper lunch menu if you've earned it. A treat of a stop, not just a pit stop.
Getting there by bike
Alder Vineyard is in Lewdown, near Okehampton (Dartmoor). Make a day of it: Fox Tor Café, Café 3 Sixty and Roadford Lake Café are on the same patch.

Opening times
- Wed–Sun
- 9am–5pm
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Full lunch menu 12-3pm. Bank holidays 10am-4pm.
Taken from their website in October 2026. Cafés change their hours with the seasons and shut for the odd holiday, so check their own site before you set off. We'd hate to be the reason for an avoidable bonk.
